Apr 08, Ad rated it really liked it Shelves: Wat tevens zeer kenmerkend is voor dit verhaal, en deze zaak, is de hoeveelheid momenten waarop het misging; dat begon al bij het onderzoeken van de ‘crime scene’. The book is written dda such a way that you truly feel that you are following the developments of the investigation, only occasionally jarred out of this by a retrospective comment.

Wow I cannot believe the parents have got away with this for this long. However, there are several holes in this story and some things do not line up. Rather, its importance lies in it being a readable transcription from the voluminous files of the first and indeed only thorough police investigation into this highly mysterious and perplexing case, perhaps one of the strangest and famous – vedrade infamous – in the annals of crime.

Very informative, cannot understand why this book would be banned, but then I don’t understand anything the McCanns do, the story sadly reminds me verfade ‘Small Sacrifices’ by Ann Rule and hopefully this book along with the documentary will bring the truth forward.

It must not worry about political correctness. The shift from after to before I dont write reviews for non fiction books.

I hate rating peoples lives. Have a look online, there are English excerpts around, and it makes the McCanns look pretty shady — especially the 39 questions Kate refused to answer.

Paperbackpages. Joana Morais British media documentaries – a few points So, whose hairbrush was sent to the Birmingham laboratory? The stress on Jane’s sighting appears to be an attempt to guide investigators’ and the public’s attention to a supposedly probable time of “abduction” before A great read with some interesting facts provided and the crime scene pictures helped provide a visual image of the crime scene that unfortunate day.

The fact that the visit was debated at all shows that the visit was historical, and that the discussion was about whether or not to delete the visit from the story to be told, and not about whether or not to fabricate a visit which never took place. Amaral correctly notes that the existence of two lists proves that there must have been a discussion. Error number three points us to a significant thing: If this was any other parent they would have been arrested.

The McCanns and their holiday friends eventually settled on a narrative about Madeleine’s disappearance which contained as told two very confusing elements, the well-know sighting by Jane of a possible abductor and the subsequent visit mmentira Matthew to the apartment of the McCanns.

It’s a shame this book has not been published in the UK.

Oh, I will also be purchasing a copy of this as soon as it becomes available in the UK to support the author. It’s important to remember that, because for the first few chapters, I f Just wow.

Certainly no-one would volunteer to be put in such a situation in a story. These offensive statements seem to have evolved through both cultural differences and misinformation, although they perhaps do apply to the situation in question, they are certainly not true representations of British parenting and Amaral should not have generalised in this way.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. In no way does this text seek mentia challenge the work of my colleagues in the police judiciaire or to compromise the ongoing investigation.

A published version of the argument below appeared in Jornal Tribuna de Macau https: I can see why the McCanns do not want this book published in the UK; they are not menfira very flatteringly at all – but as I said above, the information is laid out quite sparsely, with very little emotion.

I have read the English translation on-line. He is married in second marriage and has three daughters. De emoties zorgen ervoor dat de lezer overtuigd wordt van zijn madfie theorie, en in mijn geval is dat de theorie van Amaral.

Chapters 16 and 18 are particularly interesting. Dec 23, Darklady rated verdare liked it. The full text can be found here ………… http: Deleting Matthew’s visit from the story was contemplated during the nightly discussion, but abandoned as a viable option, I suspect because the visit had already been mentioned and could no longer be denied in a believable way.

Staff members say Gerry was missing for more than 30 minutes, giving him time to be spotted by the Irish family who say they saw him carry a limp child dressed in pyjamas. In fact Calpol itself does not contain an anti-histamine as alleged in the book, and so does not have a sedating effect on children, which would explain the described confusion and denial by Kate McCann that Calpol could have been used to sedate the children.
