He also wixowers mysteries and fantasy, as well as a great amount of nonfiction. Many of Asimov’s mini-mysteries are amusing, but as always he struggles with character and dialogue, and the stories are very formulaic.

The room includes sketches of the guests drawn by Black Widower Mario Gonzalo and a bookcase with an encyclopaedia that widwoers often consulted. Another collection of stories concerning the Black Widower’s club, a collection of greedy mates who are consistently made to look like mental midgets by their waiter, Henry.
He was fortunately unharmed by the counterfeiters but is now unfortunately haunted by the question: The reader’s enjoyment of the original version, however, depends rather too much on one’s degree of familiarity with Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. The answer for the man with the counterfeiting neighbor is, just as it always is in BW stories, so very obvious.
There’s good characterization, some fun ideas and the conceit of the whole thing being dialogue never gets tired. Books by Isaac Asimov.

Few of the stories actually deal with crime though there is a bit of murder and spycraft to be found–most boack clever conundrums that range from witty wordplay needed to solve the riddle in a former member’s will or puzzles that rely on esoteric knowledge to find solutions.
