The premise of the book, Milne avenging Malik’s death, was rather flimsy to me, in that he hadn’t even seen Malik in over 3 years. Didn’t see the outcome coming either! All the right thriller ingredients, fast-paced, exciting and plenty of twists and turns. A tight, fast moving plot with an intriguing twist in the tail that I didn’t see coming.

The only niggle I have with this book was that I found it to be excessively violent in an unrealistic way, that’s not to say the violence was unrealistically written, but there was just so much that the likelihood of it seemed very remote. This book is also fast paced and action packed, but sijon is also has grim themes.

All through the story I found myself sympathizing kernock wondering whether he is good guy at heart who has been dealt a bad hand and will his luck change. Even if I wouldn’t recommend this, it did have a reasonable plot, but not well enough executed in my opinion, and the narration reminded me of Phil Daniels talking Blur’s Parklife. I bought this because I’m a huge Lee Child fan, but Dennis Milne, the protagonist in this book didn’t have that much in common with Kegnick Reacher.

Another great read that is full of action. A good thriller with an excellent twist. I read his first book about Dennis Milne which was, I believe, his first published novel.
